Anti-Gaza War protest at capitol

leave a comment »

On Monday I attended an anti-Gaza War protest that drew roughly 200 people to the state’s capitol. Here’s the KFAI piece. (Rest of my intro follows.)

The Israeli army is defending against rocket attacks by Hamas militants.

As of yesterday: Efforts to negotiate a cease-fire continue. The United Nations have drafted a resolution calling for an “immediate, durable and fully respected cease-fire” that would lead to the “full withdrawal” of Israeli forces from Gaza, the passage of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians and an end to the trafficking of arms and ammunition through the territory. Two Israeli officials went to Cairo for discussions. The UN’s main aid agency has suspended its operations in Gaza because its staff have been hit by Israeli attacks.
