Franken winner in Senate race

leave a comment »

Al Franken came out as the victor in the now historic Senate race against Norm Coleman. Recount results were certified today in a Canvassing Board report that was delivered to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. Governor Tim Pawlenty has a week to officially accept it unless Coleman follows through in contesting the recount results.

I attended the announcement at the capitol today, along with the later press conferences from Franken and Coleman’s attorneys. Here’s the link to my story for KFAI, but be forewarned: It contains way too much ambient noise and some of the voices are too low. (Embarrassingly so. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to plug into the audio system at the events, and so the quality of the sound is not ideal.)
