Police Community Relations Council ends
Minneapolis’ Police Community Relations Council (PCRC) is ending along with the Dec. 31 expiration of the federal mediation agreement that installed the group.
I interviewed longtime civil rights activist Ron Edwards, who never missed a meeting over the course of the PCRC’s five years. Edwards said that while the PCRC has been criticized for failing to meet many of its objectives, it helped to diversify the police force. What happens next with the agreement is unclear.
